  2. Romy Schneider, What’s New Pussycat? US-France, 1964.   “They wanted me but it clashed with Casanova 70  in Rome – that was when they were due to make it in Hollywood. Even when they finished up in Paris, I couldn’t manage it – even though they were closer!”

She died, alas,  in poverty.
  7. Lina Romay, Camino solitario, Spain, 1983.   The indefatigable Spanish horror/porno director Jess Franco first tried to make this thriller in February 1972. Took him another decade to get it back on The Lonesome Road (the first title) with Mell substituted by his wife… the sexy actress with more aliases than major criminals (or Jess Franco, himself!). Rosa Almirail, Rosa Maria Almiral, RM Almirall, Rosa Almirall, Rosa M Almirall, Rosa María Almirall, Betty Carter, Jean Collins, Candice Coster, Candy Coster, Lennie Hayden, Lulu Laverne, Jane Morgan, etc.
