Oona O’Neill

Mimi Forsythe, Three Russian Girls, 1943.      Oona was chosen for Tamara, but Charlie Chaplin had other plans for the playwright Eugene O’Neill’s ’s 18-year-old daughter.  She became the  fourth and final wife  Mrs Chaplin in 1943 – until  his 1977 death.  After just three films, Forsythe retired to wed producer Benedict Bogeaus, who left her for Dolores Moran. Mimi’s next marriages ended due to one husband dying, the next divorcing her. She committed suicide in 1952.
