OK, for a movie series with one of the unknowns in the Broadway run. For example, Peardon, New York’s Judy, was tested in November 1943. Pickford pulled out when the playwrights, allegedly, wanted too high a percentage deal. Warner Bros rushed in – and out. Fox made the movie with Garner as the teenage cupid.
