Reiko Aylesworth

  1. Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, TV, 1999-2011.   Reiko and Samantha Mathis were among the three finalists for the role of Detective Olivia Benson.  Hargitay, the daughter of Jayne Mansfield, made it her Emmy-winning own during a record 479 episodes by 2020. Benson and  her partner, Christopher Meloni as  Detective Elliot Stabler, were named after the iconic producer Dick Wolf’s children. .
  2. Sarah Clarke, 24, TV, 2001-04 and 2002-3. The Dutch- Japanese-Welsh actress from Chicago auditioned for Nina Myer – thoroughly bad during 36 episodes. Reiko (say: Ray-co; it means: child of thankfulness) would try again…
  3. Sarah Wynter, 24, TV, 2002-3. Beaten to another role by another Sarah – what are the chances of that! Wynter became Kiefer Sutherland/Jack Bauer’s new (and very Washington) squeeze, Kate Warner for 25 hours. Reiko out-lasted both Sarahs when winning CTU intelligence agent Michelle Dessler (and fellow agent Carlos Bernard!) for 62 episodes during 2002-2006. until her car-bomb death in Day 5. Her favourite role – “a strong woman with a big heart… based on my mom.”
  4. Aisha Tyler, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, TV, 2004-05. She had won the recurring role of Mia Dickerson when offered another 24 season. The CSI role was taken over by Tyler, who had previously been in… 24.
  5. Heather Stevens, The Forgotten, TV, 2009-10. Heavyweight producer Jerry Bruckheimer dropped her (and the BBC’s MI-5 star Rupert Penry-Jones) after the pilot of his one-season show about The Forgotten Network of amateur detectives attempting to identify and explain anonymous corpses. She moved on to Damages and Stargate: Universe.
