Richard Crenna

  1. John Ireland, Salon Kitty, Italy, 1976. Rambo’s boss in a Tinto Brass film! That was the plan until creative differences – Italian style – and Ireland, further down the slippery slope of fame than Crenna, took over as Cliff. It was a zero role requiring only  the talent of patience – as in waiting for a decent line…  or three.
  2. Michael Lerner, Maniac Cop 2, 1989.   Crenna had been first choice for the Big Apple’s new  (but no leass dumb) police commissioner Edward Doyle in the mid-section of  New York director William Lustig’s  1987-1992 trilogy.
