Roy Skelton

  1. Michael Wisher, Doctor Who #78: Genesis of the Daleks, 1975.         Because of the mask, both Skelton (who voiced Daleks and Cybermen during 1967-1988) and Baillie passed on playing Davros, Wisher practised with a paper bag over his head. So he created the creator of the Daleks but was not free when Davros came back later and Terry Molloy became the definitive Davros in four tales, 1984-1988, with three doctors: Doc5 Peter Davison, Doc6 Colin Baker and Doc7 Sylvester McCoy.  Molloy was so famous in the role, his surprise appearance in the 25th anniversary season opener, #148: Rememberance of the Daleks, 1988, was hidden behind the the anagramatic credit of… Roy Tromelly. Skelton, in fact, often voiced Dalkes or Cybermen. Amazing he had the time as he voiced Zippy (and George) for 993 episodes of the kids’ puppet show, Rainbow, 1973-1992.
