Quickly dropped as Tim Haspel – and replaced by a pre-Ugly Betty Mabius (for 16 episodes) – after 2003 allegations of the second-degree rape in 1998 of a 12-year-old girl related to his ex-wife, and continuing the relationship with her until 2001. A father of two sons, Bairstow was sentenced to four months in jail in Washington state following a modified guilty plea to second-degree assault, sexual deviancy evaluation and a year’s supervision on his release. He didn’t work again until the sf thriller, Android Apocalypse, 2006.
