Seann William Scott

  1. Ashton Kutcher, The Butterfly Effect, 2004.    Scott had improved his script choices since being Kutcher’s mate in Dude, Where’s My Car, 2000. Yet nothing happened to the “most widely read unproduced” script until Kutcher (of all people!) got things moving by deciding to produce and star as Evan – and not Josh Hartnett, Joshua Jackson or SWS. (At age 11, Logan Lerman  was  Evan at age seven).
  2.  Orlando Bloom, Elizabethtown, 2004.  Auteur Cameron Crowe’s second misstep in six films (after Vanilla Sky, 2001). He wrote shoe-designer (!) Drew Baylor for Bloom. When he was committed to Kingdom of Heaven,Crowe read other possibles: Scott, Chris Evans, James Franco, Colin Hanks, Christopher Masterson – and chose Ashton Kutcher (!) until he projected zero chemistry with co-star Kirsten Dunst. Bloom be came free, created shoes yet little magic with Dunst. They were far from Tom Cruise-Renée Zellweger Mk II.
  3. Milo Vintimilgia,  The Divide, Germany-USA, 2010.      “The lucky ones died in  the [nucear] blast,” said the poster. Plus those (Patrick, Melissa George) who missed the original project – blown off by Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull volcano. (Eyjafjallajökull was the name of a French comedy (!) in 2013.  None of the public could pronounce it).
