Susan Peters, Song of Russia, 1943.  The Hollywood Reporter stated that Garbo was a “cinch” for Nadya.  The fact that Peters, the Swedish  Hasso, Kathryn Grayson, Hedy Lamarr, Barbara Pearson and Donna Reed were also seen,  underlined the relative unimportance of the role in the over-egged (WW11) Soviet propaganda. “Distastefully Communistic,” charged headliner Robert Taylor.   Hasso, Hasso, whose signe never really took off in Hollywood made various Euro-film, including one for the then unnown Ingmar Bergman, Sånt händer inte här (This Can’t Happen Here), 1950.  (Bergman hated and hid it).
