Sir Bruce Forsyth

  1. David Niven, Candleshoe, 1977.     Hard to believe but Brucie said in a 2013 BBC inteview that he had been in the running for a Disney role first offered to Laurence Olivier and won by Niven. It was, in fact, a quadruple role as Helen Hayes’ butler, Priory, was also seen as Gipping, John Henry and Colonel Dennis – a feat well beyond the popular song ’n’ dancer comic’s range.  (Saw Brucie – “nice   to see you, top see you nice!” –  on-stage at London’s  Cambridge Theatre production of Little Me in 1964).
