Tommy Noonan, How To Be Very, Very Popular, 1956.     Ill health meant MacDonald had to leave the film – already vacated by Marilyn  Monroe and Jane Russell.  (MacDonald later committed suicide that year, a month after his divorce). Noonan took over for the re-shoots. He is John Ireland’s half-brother, made the 1953 Gentlemen Prefer Blondeswith Marilyn and Jane but remains best known for co-writing and sharing Promises, Promises with a topless Jayne Mansfield in 1963.
