Barbara Harris

  1. Patty Duke, Valley of the Dolls, 1967.     The Broadway star (and one of Hitchcock’s final pair of leading ladies) was one of the bette rideas for the character based – so obviously – upon Judy Garland.
  2. Teri Garr, Oh God! 1977.    Considering her acknowledged flair for improvisation – she started out in Chicago with a couple of other teens:Elaine May and Mike Nichols –  Harriswas just what this comedy would have required.   Before it became a George Burns vehicle.
