Benny Hill

  1. Jacques Marin, Darling Lili, 1970.         A surprising No – to Blake Edwards and his wife, Julie Andrews – from Alfred Hawthorn Hill, Britain’s first comic created by TV (rather than music-hall and radio). He took his name from Jack Benny.
  2. Michel Serrault, Le Miraculé, 1986.        As popular in in France, as most everywhere else, Hill backed out at the last minute of this Jean-Pierre Mocky farce about the miracles and tourism exploitation of Lourdes.
