Brandon Lee

1. – Jason Scott Lee, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, 1993. “I don’t want to be remembered as: The son of Bruce Lee…”  He had no wish to portray his father’s short life of 32 years, either.  Brandon’s own life proved shorter  – dead at 28  in  a terrible shooting accident on-set during his fifth movie.

2. – Linden Ashby, Mortal Kombat, 1995. Inevitable casting for the film of a video-game greatly influenced by Bruce Lee’s classic, Enter The Dragon, 1973. Brandon was signed and sealed for Johnny Cage. Then, on March 31, 1993, the cap of a harmless blank penetrated his abdomen and lodged in his spine in a fatal shooting accident during The Crow. He died after five hours in surgery. Replacement contenders – Tom Cruise, Gary Daniels, Johnny Depp, Jean-Claude Van Damme were bypassed by the Floridian surfer and martial arts champ. He did not appear in the rest of the series, winding up in day-time soaps: The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives.
