- Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Game of Thrones, TV, 2011. You had to be a big bugger to be Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane… He was twice twice played by the 7′ (2.13 m) Stevens in 2011, then thrice by the inch taller) Welshjman Ian Whyte – and finally by the (shorter; 6′ 9″ (2.06 m) Icelandic giant, Björnsson in the HBO colossus based on George R R Martin’s fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, following the bloodthirsty family battles for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms. Shakespeare without the words.

- Ian Whyte, Game of Thrones, TV, 2011-2014. The 7ft tall Aussie (Bolg in The Hobbit) was Ser Gregor Clegane (aka The Mountain) in the first season, but replaced in the second by the inch taller Whyte (a former English basketball international and the 2006 Predator)… who was replaced in turn by shorter (6ft 9ins), Icelandic Hafpór Júlíus Björnsson in the the next season.
- Stephen Dunlevy, Spartacus, TV, 2012. The highly muscular, 2.13m tall Australian is the only wrestling champ to work in ballet with Sydney Dance Company (for five seasons) which led him into movies as stuntman, and and eventually, star. However, when he first tried gto join the Spartacus series, he had to refuse the part of The Egyptian due to his work on The Hobbit. He lost nothing as Dunlevy appeared in five epsioxes – minus any credit! Stevens later found time for a guest slot as the German Sedullus..Awaiting photo
