Dick Hogan

Lon McCallister Winged Victory, 1943.      Despite a contract promising the top six Broadway leads would continue their roles in the movie, Hogan was dropped as Frankie Davis… Worse, Hogan was “compensated” with… an uncredited  walk-on… in what proved the film debuts of Red Buttons, Jeanne Crain, Brad Dexter, Judy Holliday, Gary Merrill and future directors Martin Ritt and Don Taylor.  Hogan managed 40 other (credited) movies, , the last being Hitchcock’s Rope, 1948..  (Also cast: the Magnificent Seventh, Brad Dexter, back when he was Barry Mitchell).
