Donal Logue

  1. Michael Ian Black, Ed, TV, 2000-2004.  Ottawa’s busiest actor was chosen for Phil Stubbs Stubbs  in the NBC sitcom  produced by David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants – and then, somehow, lost it to Chicago’s MIB.    So it decidedly blows…
  2. Jon Favreau, Daredevil, 2002. Director Mark Steven Johnson wanted Brett Cullen  as the father of our hero  Ben Affleck’s Matt Murdock – and indeed, Logue as his law partner, Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson.  They proved unavailable but played almost the exact same roles in Johnson’s 2005 Ghost Rider – namely the father of Nicolas Cage’s hero Johnny Blaze – and his best friend, Mack.  By 2021, the two guys had  played 254 screen roles between them.
  3. Heath Ledger, Lords of Dogtown, 2004.  Logue was producer David Fincher’s initial choice for the real-life Skip Engholm, head of the surfer/skateboarders at LA’s Venice Beach in the 70s.   But Skip wanted Ledger to play him.   And, by yiminy, he got him!
