E.E Clive

  1. Lionel Pape, Mary of Scotland, 1936.    Katharine Hepburn was Mary trying to win back the Scottish  throne from Florence Eldridge’s Elizabeth I.  But the Welsh Edward Erskholme Clive was not Lord Burghley as cited in  various  RKO records but the English Pape.   He scored  58 Hollywood movies to Clive’s 95 – mainly, nas IMDbv reports, “a long line of austere, humourless British butlers, town mayors and haughty aristocrats, his demeanour invariably ranging from gloomy to irritable.”  Hey, it’s a living.
