  1. Joe E Brown, Show Boat, 1950.   Originally intended for Walter Huston in 1946, the vessels’ Cap’n  Andy was headed towards one of Eddie Snr’s Seven Little Foys  before  going  to the comic known nine years later for the greatest final line in movies. “Nobody’s perfect!”  In Some Like It Hot.
  2. Frank McHugh    Easy Come, Easy Go, 1966.   And Eddie  lost another skipper, Captain Jack – in as Elvis Presley’s 24th  movie, first called Or Easy Does It. The new title came from a film that had already begun shooting with the surf rock duo, Jan & Dean, and immediately canceled after 14 people, including Jan Berry, were badly injured in a train crash sequence.  Easy was also a trainwreck.
