Patterson was first signed, then substituted by Robson, who then  fell ill and was replaced by Bondi –  when suddenly Robson was well again. (Works every time). After years on stage, Patterson only started in movies in her 50s – and then knocked off 138 screen roles durinbg 1926-1961.  She finally played Aunt Polly in the 1955 CBS TV version of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
