  1. George Lazenby, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, 1968.
  2. Bradford Dillman, Piranha, 1978.     After Peter Fonda refused, Braeden (future king of soaps in The Young and the Restless, 1980-2007) quit for another movie.  Dillman took over as the hero Paul  Grogan But that is Braeden swimming in most of the underwater shots in what Steven Spielberg called “the best of the Jaws rip-offs.”
  3. Ray Wise, How I Met Your Mother, 2010.    The Young and the Restless veteran Braeden first cameoed Robin’s alpha male dad in November 2008, but not two years later…  annoying the show’s star, Neil Patrick Harris, who called Braeden a D-bag on Twitter. “Last night he bailed, saying the part wasn’t ‘substantial’ enough.”  Wise he added “makes any part substantial.” Eventually, Braeden struck back… “I’ve been in this business for 50 years, have seen so many actors come and go… I suggest whoever this young fellow is that he enjoy his success and count his blessings and save his money. My first time on [HIMYM] I enjoyed working with the writers, directors and crew enormously. However, I did not have the pleasure of meeting most of the cast, including this fellow who put his foot in his mouth by saying what he did… I’ve been overworked at Y&R. I have been doing 40 and 50 pages a day. I was not aware of what they wanted me to do until the day before.”  Harris cooled down.  “Now I feel bad for the D-bag comment. Don’t know the guy personally. I’m just fiercely protective of our show.”
