Francoise Arnoul

  1. Brigitte Bardot, Futures vedettes, France,  1954.   Beginning to mix in cinema circles (a friend’s sister was Michele Morgan), Arnoul was seen by realisateur Marc Allegret’s assistant, a certain Roger Vadim. Too late, said he, my girlfriend won it. Arnoul later starred, in BB’s place, in Vadim’s second movie, Sait-on jamais… (US: No Sun In Venice), 1956.
  2. Lea Padovani, Montparnasse 19, France-Italy,1957.   The delicious Françoise was part of the the cast of German-born director Max Ophüls, who died while preparing the project. Jacques Becker completed the Modigliani biopic.
