IceCube

  1. Tupac Shakur,Poetic Justice, 1992.    Despite the ravishing  poet (called Juastice) being played by Janet Jackson, Ice said he was not  ready for love scenes just yet.  Three of John Singleton’s stars were murdered during the next 13 years:  Lloyd Avery II at age 36 in 2005, Dedrick D Gobert, 22, in 1994 and Tupac Shakur at 23 in 1996.
  2. Snoop Dogg, Baby Boy, 2000.     Change of Rodney in a beautifully auteured (John Singleton) and acted view of the black urban male (Tyrese Gibson) trying to  just get by without gangs, drugs… or cliches.
  3. Jamie Foxx, Collateral, 2003.  Director Michel Mann considered Cube and Foxx for Max, the poor cabby-cum-hostage  driving hitman Tim Cruise around LA from job to job.
  4. Quentin ‘Rampage’ Jackson, The A Team, 2009.      Another unnecessary film  of a series that everyone had forgotten… To take over from TV’s Mr T as BA Baracus, director Joe Carnahan saw various  rappers – Common, Game and  Ice Cube  (the busiest since his electric debut in Boys n the Hood, 1990. Finally, the role  has handed to the more movie-experienced martial artist and wrestler
