Irving Bacon

  1. Eddie Acuff, Leave It To Blondie, 1944.      For the  first 14 films in the comedy franchise, Bacon was the mailman forever falling foul of Dagwood rushing off to work, late as usual. Acuff, who had turned up in various bits in the Blondie films, took over for the next 14. Bacon carried on working until 1965 when a small part in The Dick Van Dyke Show completed his total of… wait for it… 543 screen roles! Including Gone With The Wind, and Judy Garland’s A Star Is Born.
  2. Ward Bond, It’s a Wonderful Life, 1946.
