Janet Wagner

  1. Joan Fontaine, The Bigamist, 1953.        Wagner backed out of playing one of Edmond O’Brien’s two wives. Fontaine took over. Obviously. Well, she was the wife of the writer-producer Collier Young – ex-husband of their director, Ida Lupino, helming herself for the first time and, alas, not directing another movie until The Trouble With Angels, 1965.   In all, the London actress directed 41 films and TV shows during 1948-1968.
