Jason Clarke

  1. Colin Farrell, The Lobster, 2014.    Change of David in more black-comedy absurdism from Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos.  For his  dystopian love story when singles are obliged to find a mate in 45 days… or be transformed into an animal and live in the woods.
  2. Garrett Hedlund, Mojave, 2015.   Clarke was in, then out of the scenario by director William Monahan – who also adapted The Departed, 2006, which also featured Mark Wahlberg. No Oscar nomination this time.
  3. Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad, 2015.    First, Tom Hardy, then Clarke, Jon Bernthal,  Jake Gyllenhaal, Joel Edgerton and Karl Urban- lotsa comings and goings for Rick Flagg Jr in DC’s Dirty Dozen, a black ops force of supervillains, forced, blackmailed or offered  deals to work for the US government.  Hardy preferred Venom; Urban almost became Aquaman’s first villain.
