Jerome Cowan

  1. John Loder, Old Acquaintance, 1942.      The Warner Bros. Collection at the USC Cinema-Television Library says that Cowan tested for Bette Davis’ husband, Preston, when first George Brent, then Franchot Tone decided against joining the woman’s picture.  Cowan’s Gable/Flynn  moustache and slicked back black hair helped win him 222 other  film and TV roles during 1936-1971, including two 1940 Bogart classics, High Sierra and The Maltese Falcon.
