Kenneth Cranham

  1. Nicholas Ball, Lifeforce, 1984.
  2. Alexi Sayle, Doctor Who #142: Revelation of the Daleks, TV, 1985. Scottish but never sounding it, Cranham was inm the mix for The DJ opposite the (unpopular) Doc6 Colin Baker.   The Liverpool stand-up won from Cranham, rocker and ex-child actor Phil Collins, future Harry Potter star Robbie Coltrane, Nicky Henson and two genuine BBC disc-jockeys: Alan Freeman and the dreaded Jimmy Saville (as repugnant a paedophile as the series’ 80s’ producer John Nathan-Taylor proved to be – their victims were their shows’ fans) ). On stage, Cranham made his name in various Harold Pinter and Joe Orton plays.
