- Khigh Dhiegh, Hawaii 50, TV, 1968-1978. Fong tested as the villainous Wo Fat – and won the pipe-smoking Detective Chin Ho Kelly, a role much closer to the ex-Honolulu PD cop (between 1946-1962). He was first of the show’s three top cops to quit, after ten years and 241 episodes. He was less successful as a 1989 candidate for Hawaii Governor. His son, Dennis Chun, played three different roles during the original series – and became HPD Sergeant Duke Lukela for 17 cases in the rebooted 2010-2013 series.
