Linda Harrison

  1. Kim Hunter, Planet of the Apes, 1968.
  2. Lorraine Gary, Jaws, 1974.     Richard Zanuck was surprised by Spielberg’s nerve in refusing both Paul Newman and the Lucky Lady (flop). Now the 24-year-old wunderkind refused the boss’ wife for Police Chief Brody’s wife. (He had used Linda and Zanuck’s son, Harrison, as Goldie Hawn and William Atherton’s Baby Langston in Sugarland Express). Lorraine was a far more important wife to Spielberg – wed to his discoverer and mentor, Universal studio chief Sid Sheinberg.  He later bought the film rights to what became Schindler’s List for Spielberg…  and pulled rank to elbow Harrison into the studio’s Airport 1975.
