Nick Cravat

  1. Gene Sheldon, Zorro, TV, 1957-1961. Burt Lancaster’s acrobatic circus partner (Lang & Cravat) and his mute co-star in nine action movies, lost out on becoming Zorro’s similarly mute servant. (Cravat’s thick Brooklyn accent was unsuitable for costume films). Sheldon and Henry Calvin’s Sergeant Garcia made such a fine Laurel & Hardy act, Walt Disney kept them on for two films, including a re-spun Babes In Toyland, the 1934 original stars of which were… Olly and Stan.
