Peter Gennaro

  1. Kenneth LeRoy, The Pajama Game, 1956.   Among the dancers, Louisiana’s Gennaro was dropped in favour of LeRoy.  Well, the choreographer knows best.  As on Broadway, and now on his first movie, he happened to be… Bob Fosse.   Gennaro added choreography to his shingle the following year – leading to Tony and Drama Desk Awards for best choreography in Annie, 1977. His daughter, Liza, is also a dancer–choreographer and, in fact,  Dean of Musical Theatre at the Manhattan School of Music.
