  1. Walter Catlett, It Started With Eve, 1941. Disaster City!   After three weeks’ work, Richard Carle died at 69 and his work had to be re-shot with Catlett.  (It had been Carle’s 134th screen role). The star, Deanna Durbin, fell ill and production shut down for three weeks. Director Henry Koster was in mid-divorce. And it was quite obvious that five-year success of Durbin, Koster and producer Joe Pasternak was busting its britche.s  Indeed. the diva Durbin was suspended for four months  when refusing  to be the  protegee of The Phantom of the Opera, 1942.
