Richard Kiley

  1. Van Heflin, Patterns, 1955.    When the Rod Serling’ds Emmy Awartd winning  piece for Kraft Television Theatre in 1955 was  bumped up to a cinema movie, some of the original  cast re-appeared: Ed Begley, Everett Sloane etc.  Except for the main role of Fred Staple, created by Kiley and taken over by Heflin – winning the first of his six Emmy Awards.
  2. Kevin McCarthy, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1956.    And, therefore, missing the cameo in the 1978 re-make!
