Richard Loo

  1. Keye Luke, The Falcon’s Brother, 1942.     Tom Conway was the sibling and new Falcon – so why not a new houseboy Gerry, too? And so it came to pass when Conway’s younger brother, George Sanders, got bored with Falconing.   Tom made nine more as Tom Lawrence, Sanders had been Gay Lawrence. In 1948, John Calvert made three more as Michael Waring – same name was kept for the less suave Charles McGraw in the 1954-1955 series, Adventures of the Falcon.
  2. Peter Chong, The Purple Heart, 1943.      Change of Toyama once Loo was promoted to General Ito Mitsubi in writer-producer Daryl F Zanuck’s  anti-Japanese propaganda released, as New York Times critic Bosley Crowther pointed out, “close on the heels of our Government’s grim and horrifying reports of Japanese atrocities against war prisoners taken in the Philippines.”
