Richard O’Sullivan

1. – Robin Askwith, Confessions of  a Window Cleaner,   1974. The former child-star (Liz  Taylor’s son in Cleopatra, 1963) was born again as TV’s Man About The House (followed by Doctor In Charge, Robin’s Nest, even  Dick Turpin). No need, then, for the first of a lower-denominator Carry On-like series based on the pseudonymous Timothy Lea paperbacks. “I near shagged myself to death,” commented Askwith. O’Sullivan knew all about that, having experienced the rudie-nudie route with Au Pair Girls, 1972, mainly shot in the grounds of George Harrison‘s home.
