Robert Coote

  1. Philip Tongue, The Prodigal, 1954.        In the background chorus of the alleged mighty epic, the British Coote was supposed to be the Barber-Surgeon. Just as the Holy Land was supposed to be the Holy Land as promised – and not MGM’s back lot.  I saw his Colonel Pickering , in the post-Broadway f My Fair Lady at the Theatre  Royal in London’s Drury Lane in 1958 – with, of course, Julie Andrews, Red Harrison and Stanley Holloway.  What a night!
