- Woody Harrelson, Cheers, TV, 1982-1993. Treadwell blamed his alcoholism on losing the non-bright bartender, Woody (so named before Harrelson won the gig). He then became an eco-warrior, naturalist, environmentalist and documentary film-maker, known for apearances on David Letterman’s talk show and starring in Werner Herzog’s Grizzly Man, 2005. His subject was Alaskan bears He lived with them for 13 summers at the Katmai National Park… where Treadwell (ex-Dexter) and his girlfriend were killed and largely eaten by his beloved bears on October 5, 2003. He had hung around too long into the season where they kill to gain extra body fat for their winter survival.
