Tom Deal

  1. Donald Sutherland, Fellini’s Casanova, Italy-USA, 1976.  The unknown cabaret artist was staggered to find himself on Federico Fellini’s wish-list for Giacomo – alongside Marlon Brando, Michael Caine, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, even Robert Redford!! The maestro then settled for a more parochial venture with, maybe, Alberto Sordi or Gian Maria Volonte. Ultimately, it was “Donaldino.” He had shared Paul Mazursky’s , Alex in Wonderland, 1970, with Fellini in Hollywood and they met again on the set of Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1900 in 1975.
