Tomokazu Miura

  1. Ryûichi Sakamoto, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence, UK-Japan, 1982.      When singer-actor Keniji Sawada  proved unavailable for the Mishima-esque Captain Yonoi, director  Nagisa Oshima turned to Miura… before being bowled over by the androgyny  shared by his first choice and another  singer, Sakamoto. He also scored the film – a rare double whammy in movies, repeated for Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor, which won him a 1998  Oscar.
