Vivian Tobin

  1. Astrid Allwyn, It’s A Small World, 1934.    Director Irving Cummings dropped Vjvian in favour of Astrid  as Nancy Naylor  in  an early and rather half-baked screwball comedy.  This was the Hollywood debut of Hong Kong-born Brit Wendy Barrie.  She sure made an impression. When chucking plates at each other in a scene  (screwball, remember), Wendy hit Tracy close to his right eye. Shooting ceased for a few days as the cut and make-up did not go well together.   The two stars never made a second film together!   Vivian, younger sister of  Genevieve,  died six days before her 100th birthday.
