Yôsuke Natsuki, Godzilla 1985, Japan, 1984. The veteran Hirata – the one-eyed scientist Dr Serizawa in the first movie, was ill and passed Dr Hayashida to another vet. He then hoped for a tiny cameo, but died before it could be shot. Hirata is the only actor to be in the screen debuts of all the top Tokyo monsters: Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah and the robotic Mechagodzilla, during 1954-1974.
