Ellen Greene, Little Shop of Horrors, 1986. The suits had the temerity to talk to Lauper and Madonna when the orignal 1982 off-off-Broadway (and London) Audrey was alive and well and just too brilliant to ignore. So director Frank Oz did the right thing. And signed her.
