Donna Summer

  1. Dianne Steinberg, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, 1977.       The dsco queen passed – easily – passed on being Lucy (in the sky of…) in a Beatles musical minus The Beatles! And thereby showed much more style and taste than The Bee Gees and the utter mess they made of the album… forming, said Newsweek’s David Ansen, “a dangerous resemblance to wallpaper.”   Steinberg sang on the soundtrack but never made a second movie.  Incidentally, Summer had been Sheila in the Munich production of the global hit,  Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical.
