Marty Wilde

  1. Cliff Richard, Expresso Bongo, 1959.     The UK’s rival rockers, Reginald Leonard Smith and Harry Roger Webb – far better known as Marty Wilde and Cliff Richard – were up for Bert Rudge in te filmusiocal about the new rock ’n’ roll scene in old London town. Cliff was prettier but the official reason for Wilde losing out was his height: 6ft 3ins. It made him… less sympathetic!  This might explkain his seven screen rfoles comnoafaed top Cliff’s his nine screen roles to Cliff’s 19. So guess who got the knighthood in 1995…?
