Emily Osment, Hannah Montana, TV, 2006-2011. First, there was Hilary Duff, then, Britney Spears. And then Disney launched a whole new teen girl idol when dropping Miley as Lily Truscott – and giving her the lead for five years with her wig’s fringe glued to her forehead. The new Lily is younger sister of the find from The Sixth Sense – Haley Joel Osment.
Selena Gomez, Ramon and Beezus, 2009. One Disney moppet for another for the film of the children’s books. Hannah Montana passed Beezus to Alex Russo (of The Wizards of Waverly Place). Title stems from Beverly Cleary’s first Ramona book, the plot from her second and third. Hey, it’s Hollywood! Hence both moppets changed – and so rapidly – into Lolita sexpots.
