Producer Francis Coppola spent so long messing around with Wim Wenders’ US debut that by the time it was re-shot, his marriage to Ronnee was over and so was her role… Indeed, “Francey” took so long (re-shooting the whole damn thing) that Henner’s romance with the guy who played Dashiell Hammet, Frederic Forrest, went the full trip from from falling in love, marriage to divorce!
